When the casting for a superstar’s upcoming film with a renowned filmmaker was announced, it created huge excitement in the industry. The collaboration itself was notable, as the two were working together again after many years. Adding to the buzz was the casting of a talented young actress opposite the superstar, making it a fresh on-screen pairing.
The project, a grand romantic drama being shot across several international locations, had already locked its dates, shooting schedules and most of the technical crew. However, things reportedly took a dramatic turn when discussions reached the costume and styling department.
According to industry chatter, the superstar insisted that his own close associates and relatives handle his costumes for the film. These individuals have reportedly styled him for many of his films, public appearances and television shows.
The filmmaker, however, was not convinced. Sources say he tried explaining that the scale of the project required a specialised team capable of handling the complex styling demands of the characters. The superstar’s role reportedly required a completely different and refined look.
Despite the filmmaker’s reasoning, the actor allegedly refused to compromise and even threatened to walk out of the project unless his preferred team was brought on board. With the film already announced and most of the production preparations completed, postponing it would have been extremely expensive.
Left with little choice, the filmmaker eventually agreed to the superstar’s demand so that the project could move forward.
