A successful Bollywood actress, currently enjoying a strong phase in her career with several acclaimed performances, recently opened up about a difficult professional setback she experienced not long ago.
According to her, she had initially been selected for the central female role in a big film. At the time, it seemed like an exciting opportunity and a significant project for her career. However, things took an unexpected turn soon after.
The actress revealed that the producer eventually contacted her to inform her that she would no longer be part of the film. Although the conversation was uncomfortable, she appreciated that the producer was upfront about the situation.
As explained to her, the production team had originally hoped to cast a senior star as the female lead’s father in the story. When that plan didn’t work out, they approached another respected actor for the role.
However, the actor reportedly agreed to join the project only on the condition that his own daughter be cast as the film’s female lead. With shooting dates already scheduled and the production timeline under pressure, the producers allegedly decided to accept the demand.
Looking back now, the actress says she has moved on from the disappointment. She admits that losing the role was painful at the time, but she eventually gained perspective—especially after the film failed to make a major impact.
Still, she says the way the situation unfolded remains something she hasn’t completely forgotten.
