A recent incident in Bollywood has become a talking point after a star reportedly invited a film critic from Dubai to watch his movie. The outcome, however, was far from what the actor had expected.
According to insiders, the actor—someone audiences generally like—had been going through a difficult phase professionally, having not delivered a big success for some time. Keen to ensure his film received positive attention, he personally arranged for a well-known reviewer based in Dubai to travel to Mumbai to watch it.
The critic reportedly suggested that he could simply view the film in Dubai, but the actor insisted that he see it in Mumbai instead. His reasoning was that the version playing there was shorter and better edited.
Confident that things would go well, the actor waited for the reaction after the screening. But the next morning brought an unpleasant surprise. When the review appeared online, the critic had strongly criticised the film, giving it a harsh assessment instead of the expected praise.
As they say, not everyone can be won over—even with a free trip.
