While the newer generation of actors is often seen as easy to work with, occasional surprises still emerge. In this case, a Gen-Y actor has reportedly left a filmmaker stunned with an unexpected condition tied to a film offer.
The actor, who took some time to establish himself but is now fairly well-known, was approached for the role of a son in the Hindi remake of a regional film. The story centers on a father-son relationship, and the director had already finalized a veteran actor for the father’s part.
Though the younger star appreciated the script and its emotional angle, he didn’t commit immediately. After consulting with his team, he came back with a surprising request—he wanted to play both the son and the father.
According to insiders, he felt that taking on a dual role would add novelty and align with his recent film choices, offering audiences something fresh. However, the director was not on board with this idea.
The veteran actor had been the filmmaker’s first and only choice for the father’s role, and he made it clear that he wouldn’t proceed without him. As a result, the discussions didn’t move forward.
