Bollywood continues to experiment with sequels and remakes, but the results have often been mixed. While some projects succeed, many fail to connect with audiences at the box office.
According to industry chatter, a major superstar who enjoyed a strong run at the box office in 2019 was initially offered the remake of a well-known film from the 1980s. However, he reportedly decided not to move forward with the project.
Sources suggest that the decision may not have been entirely his own. A senior member of his family is said to have been unconvinced by the remake idea and advised against it.
After that rejection, the makers are believed to have approached another superstar—someone who has been associated with a highly successful film franchise. Insiders say this actor has already heard the narration and appears interested in the concept. That said, he has not officially signed the project yet because of his extremely busy schedule.
If things work out, the actor could come on board soon and the film might begin production next year.
