Most film stars rely on body doubles mainly for risky action sequences or the occasional long shot when schedules clash. However, industry whispers suggest that one major superstar reportedly depends on his duplicate for a large portion of his scenes.
According to insiders, the actor is often unable to arrive on time for shoots, largely because of late-night parties and social gatherings that continue until the early hours. As a result, filmmakers frequently use his body double to film many of the scenes scheduled for the day.
Sources claim the duplicate closely resembles the star and can even perform expressions convincingly, making it easier for directors to proceed with filming rather than cancelling the shoot. In some cases, the actor reportedly ends up filming only the close-up portions of scenes, while the rest are completed using his stand-in.
During the shoot of a big action drama released earlier this year, insiders say the first day’s filming abroad was reportedly completed entirely with the body double because the actor had not yet arrived. The star joined the production later, by which time several scenes had already been filmed.
People familiar with the actor’s work style say producers who cast him are generally aware of these habits. Despite the inconvenience, they are willing to accommodate it because the superstar’s films often perform strongly at the box office.
However, some in the industry believe such working methods could eventually create problems if filmmakers begin to lose patience with the delays.
