A leading superstar had fallen in love with his co-star during the making of a film long ago, and their relationship—along with their dramatic breakup—became one of the most talked-about love stories in the industry. The past resurfaced when the actress reportedly approached one of India’s most celebrated filmmakers, with whom she shares a longstanding professional rapport, and expressed interest in working together again. Coincidentally, the filmmaker had been contemplating a sequel to one of his blockbuster films and felt she would be a fitting choice.
Following the massive success of his previous release, the grand-scale filmmaker was reportedly juggling multiple ideas for his next project: the sequel, a large emotional action drama centered on brotherhood with two major stars, and a contemporary quirky romance featuring a macho superstar and a younger actress.
When the senior actress inquired about suitable scripts, he narrated the concept of the sequel to her. Unlike the original film, which revolved around a love triangle, the follow-up was said to focus on a married couple whose relationship faces upheaval when a third person enters their lives. The director was keen on casting the same actress and the macho superstar from the original film, this time as a married pair rather than former lovers.
While the casting seemed exciting, it came with a significant complication—the two stars had once shared a real-life romance before eventually parting ways. Although years had passed and cordial interactions had occurred between the actress’s husband and the superstar, the filmmaker remained cautious. Being close to the actress’s family, he reportedly insisted that she seek their approval before proceeding.
The actress is said to have returned with reassurance that her family had no objections and supported her decision, trusting her grace and professionalism in handling both her public and personal image. Encouraged, the filmmaker then approached the superstar with the script. However, much to his surprise, the actor declined the offer. He reportedly felt that audiences might find it difficult to accept their on-screen relationship, especially portraying a married couple, given their well-known personal history and her current marital status.
Instead, the superstar expressed greater interest in the lighter, quirky love story involving a younger actress. Left with little choice, the filmmaker had to inform the senior actress about the decision, which reportedly left her disappointed. Sources now suggest she is once again considering strong scripts from prominent banners for her next project.

So HDDCS sequel rumors were true !! I am surprised Ash and B family agreed to work with Salman and he refused. This could be a casting coup of decade.
PS – In HDDCS, Ash went back to Ajay. So how can sequel show Ash married to Salman ? Maybe SLB tweeked story to show AD dead n Ash Salman married .
