IA 50-something Bollywood heavyweight has reportedly become a major headache for his producers. The saga began when the actor signed on for an action film from a first-time director, accepting a ₹1 crore signing amount — only to vanish for the next two years. Desperate filmmakers couldn’t reach him to schedule dates, forcing an intermediary actor-producer to step in.
When finally confronted, the star allegedly claimed he no longer liked the script and had no intention of doing the movie. Asked to return the advance, he reportedly refused, saying he had already spent it and it wasn’t his fault the script wasn’t up to his standards.
Producers spent much of the following year rewriting the project as an ensemble suspense thriller, inspired by And Then There Were None. The actor begrudgingly agreed to 15 shooting days with an additional ₹7 crore fee. Production finally kicked off in Goa, with the star’s arrival promised on a specific date.
But on that day, the actor’s manager reportedly called to announce that his client was delayed due to “legal issues” and couldn’t confirm a new arrival date — unless his palms were greased. After allegedly pocketing ₹35 lakh, the manager ensured the star reached Goa a week late, allowing filming to commence.
The project survived, but insiders say the producers are still shaking their heads at the star’s unpredictable behavior.
