Many filmmakers have reportedly been trying to meet a major superstar who has been on a break from films for nearly a year. The actor himself has also been reaching out to writers and directors whose recent work impressed him, asking if they might have projects that could interest him. Insiders say he has already met more than two dozen filmmakers over the past few months—some of them multiple times—yet he hasn’t officially agreed to any project so far, even those whose scripts he liked.

Among those who recently met him was a respected filmmaker of Indian origin based abroad, who visited the star at his home over the weekend along with a writing partner. The director is internationally recognised for making films that explore the lives and experiences of Indians living overseas. Several of these films, including the director’s most recent one, have found success with audiences.

According to sources, the filmmaker presented an idea for a superhero film during the meeting. However, the concept was not meant to resemble the usual comic-book style seen in Marvel movies. Instead, it was described as a distinctive story rooted in the world the director often explores—centred around immigrant life and culture.

Those close to the development say the superstar listened with interest but has asked for some time before making a decision. If the project eventually moves forward, it could become the actor’s first international film—one designed to appeal to global viewers while still retaining elements that connect with his loyal audience in India.
