A well-known ad filmmaker, who successfully transitioned into feature films, was among the early Indian creators signed by a global streaming giant for an original series. However, his much-anticipated project has reportedly fallen apart after years in development.

The series, envisioned as a large-scale mythological action drama, was being developed in collaboration with a prominent writer-lyricist. What initially seemed like a promising partnership soon ran into trouble as delays kept piling up.

Insiders reveal that the writer, tied up with multiple commitments—including a high-profile role linked to the government—was unable to deliver the script despite repeated extensions. The filmmaker reportedly waited for years, even as production costs mounted through international scouting and early preparations.

Eventually, the situation escalated into a serious fallout between the two. With no script in sight and mounting expenses, the filmmaker had no choice but to shut down the project. He also had to bear financial losses and return the advance he had received from the streaming platform.

The two are said to no longer be on speaking terms. Meanwhile, the platform chose not to take action against the writer, given his influence and standing.
