Before this recently released film finally hit theatres and turned into a massive box-office success, its makers reportedly faced several hurdles while trying to cast the female lead opposite the film’s main star. For quite some time, the team struggled to find the right actress for the role before eventually finalising the one who ultimately appeared in the movie.
According to industry buzz, the role was offered to multiple actresses — reportedly as many as five — before someone finally agreed to take it on. Interestingly, some of the actresses who turned down the opportunity had not even had a proper film release at that time, yet they still chose not to sign the project.
The reasons for declining varied. A few actresses reportedly felt that the role was not substantial enough, while others were said to be uncomfortable with certain elements in the script, including the number of kissing scenes required for the character.
The actress who eventually accepted the role, however, reportedly looked at the project from a different perspective. Instead of focusing on the concerns that others had raised, she saw the potential in the story, the lead character, and the overall scale of the film. Convinced that the project could turn out to be something special, she quickly agreed to be part of it.
Now that the film has released and is performing exceptionally well at the box office, the decision seems to have worked out brilliantly. As they say, sometimes success comes from seeing the bigger picture.
