A sequel to a classic Bollywood superhero film has sparked controversy even before going on floors.

The original movie was a landmark project that redefined box-office success and created an iconic character loved by audiences. Over the years, everyone associated with the film—from actors to writers—went on to build strong reputations, even internationally.

Trouble began when a sequel was announced by a prominent filmmaker in collaboration with a major studio. Notably, the announcement didn’t initially include key names associated with the original project, which led to widespread backlash. The original director publicly expressed his disappointment, while others maintained silence.

Behind the scenes, however, things were evolving differently. Sources suggest that the original producer quietly negotiated deals with the stakeholders. Soon after, even the lead actor—who was reportedly upset at first—chose to remain silent, allegedly after reaching a favourable agreement.

This shift in stance from key figures surprised many in the industry, especially those who had spoken out in support of them earlier.

Now, it appears that most parties involved have come to terms with the situation—except the original director. He reportedly feels sidelined and believes his creative contribution to the original film has not been adequately acknowledged. As a result, his relationship with both the lead actor and the producer has soured.

With an official announcement expected soon, the sequel is moving forward—but not without leaving at least one major contributor feeling left out.
