Sometimes, stardom can be difficult for actors to handle. With success often comes attitude and tantrums that end up troubling everyone working on a film. But what happens when an actor who isn’t exactly a box-office giant still behaves like one? And to make matters worse, his girlfriend is said to be adding to the chaos.
Industry chatter points to a young Gen-Y actor who considers himself a major star despite having only one major hit to his credit. His biggest success so far was a biopic based on a famous Indian personality. After that, his career saw mixed results — two films failed badly while another hit was largely credited to the presence of a newcomer actress from a royal family.
The year hasn’t started too well for the actor, but he now has two upcoming releases he’s hoping will turn things around. One of these films, set to release soon, has already created a lot of excitement as it marks his collaboration with a filmmaker who previously delivered a blockbuster with a major superstar.
However, sources claim the actor has not been easy to work with. Members of the crew, including assistant directors, are said to be frustrated by his mood swings and behaviour on set. Adding to the situation, his current girlfriend — also an actress but without many successful films — is reportedly causing additional trouble.
During a recent poster shoot for the film, the girlfriend allegedly began acting like the actor’s manager and started giving instructions to the team. Her behaviour reportedly upset several people on the set. With the film’s trailer launch and promotions approaching, the team is said to be worried about managing the pair during the publicity phase.
