Several producers and banners were said to have operational accounts with the bank, which created challenges when withdrawal limits were imposed. Salaries, payments, and ongoing transactions were all impacted, leaving many scrambling for solutions.

Amid this situation, one top producer reportedly made light of the crisis. Industry chatter suggests that his banner had taken a substantial loan—rumoured to be around ₹300 crore—from the bank. Instead of expressing concern, he was allegedly heard joking about not having to repay the amount given the circumstances.

The remark didn’t sit well with many, especially considering the seriousness of the situation affecting both the industry and the general public.

There are also whispers that other production houses with underperforming films or recent financial deals involving the bank are facing similar pressure.
